The wife of Dr Martyn Lloyd-Jones was such a woman. Bethan Lloyd-Jones' portrait has long been hidden in a part of the gallery known only to her family and certain close friends. Lynette G. [Preface] Bethan (pronounced Beth-un) Lloyd-Jones loved her God, her husband, her family, her 'church family', her friends and so many other people with whom she came into cntact and whose lives were touched by her fragrant Christian character.
[Prologue] One morning, after breakfast, when he was preparing to go out on one of his long journeys, the room looked so bright and cosy that a sudden depression seized me at the thought of its emptiness when he was gone, and the many anxious hours that must pass before I should see him again.

[Preface] I trust that the life of such a lady may challenge and encourage you, to the extent to which it did me, to live a life consecrated to the Saviour and to his service.

Shortly after the funeral service at Bethel Chapel, Mrs Lloyd-Jones' earthly remains were taken to the beautiful spot in the Teifi Valley where her husband had been buried and were laid beside him in the same grave in Gelli Cemetery to await, with him, the voice of the archangel and the trumpet call of God on the day of resurrection.
