The threatening overtones continue, the revelations are well done and the continuing mystery of the four kindreds is a very good hook. ( ) This series has me shook on so many different levels. I don't understand how I survived this book. Too many things happening all at once but you still somehow understand it...? I have no idea how to explain this series and is definitely better if you don't know or expect anything. This is a type of book/novel that should be gone into without knowing anything. Each volume of this series manages to deliver new plot twists while still remaining true to the characters. The mythology is further developed and I enjoyed seeing how the characters developed through a number of surprising twists and the expansion of the world. Overall, fun reading and a series I will certainly continue. This book was... really mediocre. The whole series has been actually. But they're also weirdly enjoyable. I don't really have much to say about this, so I'm just gong to do a short list of my thoughts. - Cleo is the one likeable MC. I'm actually rooting for her at least. And I sort of vaguely care that she survives. - Jonas was okay, up until I realized he was sexist. Now he's not okay. - I literally just DON'T CARE about Lucia. - And then there's Magnus. If you've read my reviews for the previous books, or seen my status updates, you will know that I have an extreme hatred of Magnus Damora. He is the tragic bad boy trope at it's worst. He has exactly no redeeming qualities, (I swear his only "redeeming qualities" are that he has a tragic past (Oh poor him! This clearly completely excuses the fact that he's a jerk!), and that he's secretly an artist (*gasp!* This obviously makes him a likeable person.).) I am very unimpressed. Like yes, I feel the tiniest bad for him, but that doesn't excuse the fact that he is a complete and utter jerk. - Everybody dies. I am just so emotionally detached to this series now, because if they're a side character, then they're probably going to die. It sort of feels like every time the author was stuck plot-wise she just decided to kill another character. And it's honestly so unimpressive. - The plot is unoriginal, and pretty predictable. - But THOSE CLIFFHANGERS!! - And also these books are just insanely enjoyable and easy to read, for whatever reason. ***Initial Reaction, May 27, 2018*** Does this even deserve three stars? Probably not. But it was ridiculously enjoyable, so three stars it is... RTC. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
