This is a collection of short antedotes written by a Buddhist monk. Some give a practical example of important principles to help live your life and some seem to be more just for simple amusement. I appreciate the concept and found it a light and enjoyable read but I personally would have preferred some commentary or more in depth look at some of the topics, although I can use this as a guide and search for that commentary elsewhere. I do appreciate the book for what it is and the way it is written does make it easy to use the book daily, selecting short passages regularly that can then be adapted to that days' adventures. ( )

Humorous parables from a Zen point-of-view.

I stopped after 25 pages. The stories are very short and very preachy. They aren't bad, but I can't take that level of preachiness. ( )

Very enjoyable. Nice short pieces made good bedtime reading. Some humor, lots to ponder. I went and requested his earlier titles right away. ( )
