I can now connect you to The Clone Wars: Final Season now, too. | Hello, Jedi Betrayer. | "I have become indifferent to pain." (Sara, too, sir. Sara, too.) | Wow, look at this first issue just bringing out all the bad guys. | Those Jedi & Chancellor conversations that just twist the heart so. | Where is Anakin in all this? | I don’t often read comics, other than the occasional manga episode, and I’m a big Star Wars nerd so my review might be very biased and not very knowledgeable of the medium, but oh well... here it goes. Son of Dathomir is set after the events of Clone Wars season 6. Maul is captive, but his criminal syndicate is still raging over the galaxy. These comics tell the story of how he escapes Sidious’ imprisonment and the short war he raged against the Dark Lord of the Sith. It will be interesting to see his role in S7 of Clone Wars and if it ties back to these comics. The fact that this story was subtly referenced in Season 7 made me so happy I read this in advance. The illustrations are amazing and the action resembles that of the animated series which is top notch. However, not being used to this medium I find the pacing too fast. It’s pew pew! boom! bam! and a couple of panels of story development. To me that’s a bit of a letdown. Overall I enjoyed the collection though I wished it would had been a bit slower and would had developed the plot further. 7.75/10 sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

Apparently Dart Maul managed to return from the dead and create his underground criminal network linking various existing mercenary (Mandalorians among them, infamous Death Watch in particular) and criminal groups (Black Sun syndicate being one of them, which is sort of an irony since he was responsible for shattering their activities couple of years earlier). But Maul is first and foremost driven by revenge against the Dart Sidious because of his treacherous actions against the Dark-side Witches of Dathomir.
Volume is full of action in space and on ground but it feels rushed. If DH publishing had more time this story could be more developed across at least one more volume. But things are as they are I guess.
Artistically volume follows the look and feel of Clone Wars series for some elements (i.e. Mandalorians and Dathomir Nightbrothers) but for others it aims for more mature look (like Count Dooku, Sidious and Jedi's involved). Overall volume art is very good.
Recommended to all fans of Star Wars universe. ( )
