Sean Madden is a special multi-faceted artist and thinker. It always amazed me how he is able to develop his creativity in so many areas, and in such intelligent ways. As an artist myself and a writer on the subject of art, I feel lucky to have written about him and his unusual vision. I am also happy to say I know him personally. Like many artists and musicians (and he is both) who venture into realms of darkness through their work, he has at times been misunderstood. He is one of the most compassionate and interesting creators I've met along the way. His work is laced with social commentary and realistic observations about life (and this is the very thing that makes him a real artist), but also leaves him open to misunderstanding. I understand and admire him. I am grateful for that, as are so many others.
