This is an exceptional commentary; short but with much more said in this short commentary than in many commentaries of either multiple volumes or 1 volume with greater number of pages. This commentary reads like a Ted Dekker novel; if you put it down after beginning to read it, I assure you, it will be most likely against your will. It is an easy read with profound, theologically practical insights. Lane's sees Hebrews as primarily a sermon, an example of "early Christian preaching" with concern for "Christians wrestling with the cost of commitment". ( ) sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
By surpassing most transitional commentaries, Lane's work unveils Hebrews as a sermon rendered by a concerned "preacher" to his Roman church, which is under persecution and dangerously close to rejecting the faith. As an exposition of encouragement and exhortation, Hebrews addresses the central concerns of our contemporary insecurity: the tension between secular conformity and spiritual maturity and the threat of societal perversion and materialism to a Christian commitment.
