I didn't love the first book in the series, but I thought it was ok. This book was, unfortunately, extremely boring and I could hardly finish it. I don't think I will continue on with this series. ( ) Stone Cold Touch by Jennifer L. Armentrout continues Layla, Zayne and Roth's story in this epic sequel. I was totally obsessed with the first book in this series so I ran out and bought the sequel. It took me a bit to get to reading it, but it was totally worth it! In this epic continuation, Roth is gone. Layla and Zayne are growing closer as it seems like a Lilin has been released and is wreaking havoc at the local high school. Then suddenly... Roth's back? The love triangle gets so much worse as Layla tries to figure out why Roth doesn't love her and why Zayne suddenly does. And it seems like everything is only getting worse... things are getting out of control and people can't be trusted. This book is super fast to read and it's quite amusing. There are some goofy one liners and jokes throughout the book that make this romantic, fantastical drama more amusing than the typical tale. It was a great YA/New Adult book with some sexy scenes but no real sex. It's definitely for an older teen crowd. This book isn't afraid to delve into the fact that teens have sexual feelings for one another. Some of the plot points are really easy to guess and see coming, but I was in this book for the fun and not for the plot. I adore the love triangle and ease of this book. It's a nice, simple yet long book. It clocks in at over 400 pages so it did take a couple days for me to read it. I have to say, I didn't enjoy this book as much as the first one. It's 95% as good as the first, in my humble opinion. It's still a great read and I'll definitely be finishing the series when I manage to find the third book. Overall, this is a great YA read. It has gargoyles (Wardens), demons, fantastical and magical elements, a love triangle, romance, comedy and lots of drama. It will definitely keep you busy and amused! Four out of five stars. I'll be honest, the love triangle in this book bothered me. Don't get me wrong, I like both Roth and Zayne but I didn't feel the romance and Zayne really bothered me at times. I just find it odd that he suddenly likes Layla. Would he even have admitted his feelings if Roth hadn't appeared? I may be biased though because I am still on Team Roth. I look forward to reading the next book, even if she does end up with Zayne. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
Layla Shaw is trying to pick up the pieces of her shattered life-no easy task for a seventeen-year-old who's pretty sure things can't get worse. Her impossibly gorgeous best friend, Zayne, is forever off-limits thanks to the mysterious powers of her soul-stealing kiss. The Warden clan that has always protected her is suddenly keeping dangerous secrets. And she can barely think about Roth, the wickedly hot demon prince who understood her in ways no one else could. But sometimes rock bottom is only the beginning. Because suddenly Layla's powers begin to evolve, and she's offered a tantalizing taste of what has always been forbidden. Then, when she least expects it, Roth returns, bringing news that could change her world forever. She's finally getting what she always wanted, but with hell literally breaking loose and the body count adding up, the price may be higher than Layla is willing to pay.Contains mature themes.
