A fun bedtime story about a boy whos Grandma gets everything he needs for a sleepover. The sassy grandma is as funny as she is resourceful. Students may relate the story if they have ever had a sleepover before and can be asked to write a story about a time they have slept over somewhere. ( ) This is a funny look at a young boy who stays the night with his grandmother, only she isn't prepared. And her attempts to remedy this are very over-the-top and unnecessary. Children find this story very humorous. This book could be used to practice making predictions, as my four year old was able to use the clues in the story to predict what was about to happen, so even children who are not strong readers can access this lesson through listening. Patrick has gone to his Granny's house for his first sleepover. When she asks him to get ready for bed he points out the things that he is missing, such as a bed, a pillow, a blanket and a teddy bear. Each time Granny says "What?" and runs to make him the thing that he is missing. But Granny does not merely find him a bed, she cuts down a tree, makes the bed and paints it. Each time Granny faces a problem she finds an over-the-top solution. Bright cartoonish illustrations add to the fun. Children aged 3-6 will love this book which would also make a great read aloud. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
