Memoirs of Kahn, a Jew born in 1922 in Berlin. In 1929 his family immigrated to the Netherlands. Pp. 29-153 describe his childhood and his experiences in the Holocaust, including the German occupation and the Nazi anti-Jewish laws. He escaped deportation in 1942 by fleeing to Belgium and then to France, posing as a non-Jew. He was arrested in Marseille as a stowaway and sent to the prison camp of Le Vernet; later he was transferred to work on a nearby farm, but escaped by killing his German guard. Then, he crossed the Pyrenees into Spain, with the help of the French underground. He went on to England, and in 1943 joined the Dutch Navy. After the war, Kahn immigrated to Palestine, and in 1948 returned to the Netherlands where he became the owner of a shipping company. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
