Sure to please anyone who isn't into "traditional" (aka old-fashioned) quilts. However, I found the patterns rather difficult for the bed quilts. Makes me wish that this book was on paper/foundation piecing instead of the use-photocopied-templates-to-cut-all-the-weird-pieces-and-keep-your-fingers-crossed-it-works method. I would have given this book a five if it wasn't for this "problem." At least Denyse clearly illustrates every part and provides very clear patterns to be photocopied and enlarged, even if many of them are for the most advanced quilter. And the section covering quilting techniques in general was well written and very concise. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

handedly get young people interested in quilt making. Her designs are simple and elegant and have interesting color combinations. The emphasis is not on matching points precisely, but making quilt projects with a lot of movement and fresh color choices. She also has a variety of different projects, one of which made me think that I actually could make a tote bag. Her writing style is fun. While some of the directions are a bit confusing, I think a beginner could walk away from this book with some nicely completed projects. I don’t usually buy project based quilt books, but I bought this one, because the designs stuck in my mind. And it is proving to be a good investment as I keep looking at it over and over. ( )
