If you want to learn about one of history’s most fascinating minds and uncover some of his secrets of imagination—secrets that enabled him to invent machines light years ahead of his time and literally bring light to the world—then you want to read this book. Imagination amplifies and colors every other element of genius, and unlocks our potential for understanding and ability. It’s no coincidence that geniuses not only dare to dream of the impossible for their work, but do the same for their lives. They’re audacious enough to think that they’re not just ordinary players. Few stories better illustrate this better than the life of the father of the modern world, a man of legendary imaginative power and wonder: Nikola Tesla. In this book, you’ll be taken on a whirlwind journey through Tesla’s life and work, and not only learn about the successes and mistakes of one of history’s greatest inventors, but also how to look at the world in a different, more imaginative way. Read this book now and learn lessons from Nikola Tesla on why imagination is so vital to awakening your inner genius, and insights into the real “secret” to creativity, as explained by people like Jobs, Picasso, Dali, and Twain.… (más)

This is very quick read and a well written synopsis of Nikola Tesla and imagination. I had heard of Tesla but didn't know much more and this book was a great introduction to an amazing person and a great inspirational read about genius being a path anybody can take, never giving up, thinking being the enemy of creativity and varied knowledge and experiences being more likely lead to fresh ideas. It is not a book for getting an in depth understanding of Tesla or in depth information about self improvement or imagination, but it is a good short inspirational read. ( )

This is a very brief account of Tesla's life. I would say it serves more as an introduction to Tesla than a full-fledged biography. ( )

This book that I got for free isn't really about Tesla. Still it is the first "book" I have read about Tesla. Even though the first and the last of the book have nothing to do with Tesla's life, I learned a lot about him that you don't get from magazine articles. Thus, I rate it 3 stars since the biography seems to be legitimate. It matches a web site posted by Espartaco Palma. (http://theoatmeal.com/comics/tesla), and is consistent with https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nikola_Tesla.

The first 1/3 of the book goes on and on about what makes a genius. Hint, the answer is 'imagination.' Not bad, but not what I was reading for.

The last 1/6 of the book leaves Tesla and gets into musing about 'The Secret to Creativity.'

It was worth the time I spent reading it while waiting in line. ( )

My experience:

Even though this book was very short, I loved every page. I want to go and research one of the greatest minds of our time. He never gave up no matter the odds, because he did what he loved and was passionate about.

This book inspired me, and reminded me that not everything happens in a calculated manner, we have to dream as well. Imagination plays a huge part. These inventors imagined the "impossible" and they made it happen.

Amazing! ( )

I loved this little book. Not only was it interesting and informative, it was inspirational. Often creatives are struck with self-doubt and this book counters that wonderfully. I enjoyed the quotes and information on how great minds view the world and their place in it. I would recommend to anyone who has a burning desire to create and add to the world. ( )
