After a really compelling opening to the series, the sequel falls flat. (

Whoops, totally my bad. Read only a few chapters before realizing that this was actually a sequel, and not a standalone. But I don't think I feel strongly enough about the characters or setting to continue, not that it's especially poorly done. (
