This is the last installment in the Fone Stories(tm) by Mike Kearby that I have read for review, and the one that spoke most personally to me. At the end of his life, a cancer patient speaks to God, and asks all of the questions that so plague many of us.

Rather than delve into morals and morality, this viewpoint takes on man's ultimate responsibility for the varying permutations of religious doctrine, and the multitude of `reasons' for those versions. Without a flat out denial of the existence of God (or gods), Kearby has managed to create a logical, non-emotional skeptic's view of the questions that surround religion and faith, offering a more inclusive and, to me, logical view of the origins of religion.

A terrific little story that is certain to start people talking, with a premise that promises to make that discussion lively.
