This is a comprehensive survey of the status of international law as it relates to crimes against humanity. Geoffrey Robertson is knowledgeable, authoritative, opinionated and wonderfully readable. I don't think that anyone else could translate this topic into a genuinely enjoyable read. (Read June 2013) Written in typically brilliant Robertson fashion, sweeps majestically across geograpical and temporal spheres, describing the human rights movement to the current day and the awful atrocities that have lined the path. So clear, as well as being brave enough to declare principles of international law and binding and crystallised, when many others will not go that far. Compulsory reading and the base point from which all thinking in the field of international criminal law should flow. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
"Geoffrey Robertson QC tells the dramatic story of how the human rights idea has come to dominate world politics, culminating in the decision to bomb Serbia for its crimes against humanity. Identifying a shift from diplomacy to law as the crucial post-Cold War development, Robertson reveals what else we can expect from the demand for global justice."--BOOK JACKET.Title Summary field provided by Blackwell North America, Inc.
