We never really find out what he was doing, other than "working". Then, you have the whole mystery. What happened in the caves? Andrei adds a level of intrigue. The billionaire Russian that wants Beth for himself. The sex in this one was...meh. Again Dominic takes things too far and starts the cycle of self-loathing. The book could have been 20% shorter. Too much flowery over-visualization. I don't need to know about all the paintings in Andrei's house. It doesn't add to the story. And Beth's constant over-thinking? I would hate to live in her mind!
