This nonfiction book is a gripping account of the events that led up to President Kennedy’s assassination. Bill O’Reilly narrative gives parallel details about Kennedy’s life with that of Lee Harvey Oswald’s. It was interesting to see what each was doing in the months and days before Kennedy was killed. O’Reilly also talks about some the critical aspects of Kennedy’s administration, the world leaders he dealt with, and the people in his life, including his wife and children. He compares Kennedy’s assassination to Lincoln’s assassination, pointing out the similarities. The book reads like a novel, and is a bit sensationalized at times, but overall, was quite interesting. ( ) Actual Rating: 4.5/5 stars Review: Bill O’Rielly and Martin Dugard sure have a way with words. Kennedy isn’t my favorite president (but he isn’t my least favorite either), so this wasn’t my favorite book out of the Killing series. It was still an interesting read, though, and I think its important information. Given to me by my mom in 2020 from the CCHS library collection. I listened to this as an audio book during exercise LF CARAT in 2014 and was my first of the "Killing" series. It was also my first book ever read about JFK and it provided a very detailed account of his life and presidency that I never knew, many of the details were disappointing to learn about him as a man and a leader. It also helped give me insight into what took place with his assassination which proved interesting when we later lived in Dallas and often visited the "X" where he was shot and killed, as well as the 4th floor museum. Highly recommend.

Recounts the murder of John Fitzgerald Kennedy and how gunshots on a Dallas afternoon not only killed a beloved president but also sent the nation into the cataclysmic division of the Vietnam War and its culture-changing aftermath. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
