I couldn't stand Maggie at all....I hate to end a romance novel wishing the H would have found somebody else! Why can't these authors understand there are so many of us who want to read more of the "togetherness/in love" parts and less of the "keep pushing them away to protect my oh so fragile heart"! It gets OLD fast! Not as good as the first one. Maggie REALLY annoyed me for much of this book. I understand she had issues, but she was just downright mean to Michael. And I'm not sure how I feel about that trick Michaels mom pulled. And don't get me started on Max. He's going to have to really be something special in the next book for me to root for him. We'll see. Solid 3 stars for this. Not as good as book 1.

The sexy second book in the New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling Marriage to a Billionaire trilogy by "one of the most exciting breakout novelists" (USA TODAY) Jennifer Probst. To satisfy his late father's wishes, hot and single billionaire Michael Conte must find a bride--someone who will fit into his traditional family back home in Italy--and fast, so his engaged sister will be allowed to wed. With no intention of being tied down, Michael "proposes" to fiery, free-spirited photographer Maggie Ryan: if she will play the part of his fiancée during her trip to Milan for a photo shoot, he will keep away from her married best friend, Alexa, and stop making Maggie nuts with their too-close-for-comfort flirtations. But once in Italy, sexual tension sparks the hottest no-strings-attached arrangement on any continent. Could marriage be the most enticing trap of all? I was disappointed when I started this book that Maggie wasn't already with Michael, but soon couldn't put it down. Michael's sister is wanting to get married and since there was a death bed promise of an ancient tradition being upheld, Michael is forced to "marry" so that his sister can. Michael approaches Maggie with the proposition of pretending to be his wife while they visit his family in Italy. Maggie and Michael have a love hate relationship and are constantly fighting and at each other's throats. But she agrees on the terms that Michael will stay away from her sister-in-law whom she believes Michael is in love with.
Things progress, and the two soon realize that underneath everything they are falling for each other, of course Maggie has had a few things in her past that have turned her off of love and she runs, but Michael continues to fight for her and things turn out wonderful. I can't wait to read about Carina in the next book! ( )
