I liked the narrator of Moon over Manifest, and came up with this one, looking for other readings. It would seem that was an excellent strategy, I LOVED this! Now I have to follow the author to her previous book, and happily it's the same narrator too. :-) ( )

I'm hitting a lot of 5 stars this month, luckily just pulling them off my TBR shelf. This was one for me, I love reading about antique pickers, and Charleston SC, but the story was a different one and so uplifting. I will also comment that I was originally drawn to this book because of the cover. ( )

I found this book to move along very slowly, however it was well written and told a good story so I did stick with it to find out the ending. ( )

Ever since Teddi’s brother disappeared many years ago, her life hasn’t been the same. She is drawn back home to Kentucky when signs emerge that he might still be alive. It is there where she must come to terms with her shattered family and find herself.

I loved this book, I'd rate it 4.5 stars. It would be 5 stars but there were some very sad scenes about animals. Also, the flashbacks got a bit confusing. I kind of lost track of what year it was in the present day and how old the characters were in the flashbacks.

I read the author's previous book, Saving CeeCee Honeycutt and felt like most people liked it more than I did (I think I rated it three stars). But this book I actually thought was way better and that's always a good surprise.

I loved the characters in this book. Do you ever read a book and feel like you'd be friends with?
The lead, Teddi, is one of the sweetest people. She's kind to everyone, she was practically born knowing what she wanted to do and she made it happen.
She owns antique shop and refinishes old furniture.

I loved her kindness and strength.

Your heart also goes out to her because of her brother Josh. Josh is almost other worldly. He is so connected to nature that one day he wondered off into the wild and was never seen again.
He's been missing for a very long time and everyone has given up hope except for Teddi.

I thought this story was well written and heartwarming. I'm not kidding when I say that I reached a point where I couldn't put it down. I read for an hour past the time I planned to make dinner because I couldn't stop before it was finished.

Looking for Me (Beth Hoffman)

Teddi Overman leaves rural Kentucky for Charleston with dreams of opening her own shop. She loves to restore old furniture and turn them into treasures. She starts to build a new life, she makes friends and even finds love. Yet she is still haunted by her past. That one day when her brother Josh disappeared. She hangs on to hope that one day he will come home.

Looking for Me is a story of family, loss, love and Teddi's desire to find herself. A touching story with likable characters, a flawed family and one woman's determination to make everything right. Great story line that left a lasting impression, will stay with me for a long time.
