This book would be such a fun book for read alouds (Grades 1-3) or for students to read who really enjoy science (3-5). These true stories tell of different kids who's research and findings have made an impact on the scientific world. This book could be used to teach strategies for setting up and experiment, or how science discoveries are based on asking specific question. Regardless, it sparks children's interest and excitement about science. ( ) This book contained a series of biographies about kids who made a difference in the scientific world. I really really enjoyed reading it. The illustrations were lovely and enhanced the reading experience; the fun facts sprinkled throughout the book were also very helpful. I love the idea of focusing on young people's accomplishments. It's good and fine to learn about adults who have made a difference, but learning about kids--probably would be super inspiring for young folks. And the youth who were featured in this book were different genders, different religious, different poverty levels, and even different levels of ability/disability. Excellent biography for grades 4 and 5 and tweens. This book was absolutley fascinating, and I can only imagine how children would look at it! It is such a factual and imformative book with many stories in it. It contains different stories on very important people in todays world such as: Louis Braille, who invented the Braille system of writing for the blind, Venetia Burney, the girl who name Pluto, Mary Anning, a girl who was the first to find the fossilized remains of many dinosaurs, and several others. All their stories have to do with science and what can be created with the sciences. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
