Hit the limit. Maybe I'll finish this one day. Wild Man is the story of Brock and Tess. We meet Brock in the first story. He's an undercover DEA agent who gets on Hawk and Gwen's bad side when he uses her as bait in an undercover drug op without informing her and without her permission. In this book, he also meets Tess while undercover on an op and things are a bit rocky between them when she finds out. However, they quickly move past that and end up fighting outside threats that try to tear them apart. Namely her ex husband and his ex wife. I liked this one a lot more than the first book. I liked the couple a lot more than in the first book. I liked how there wasn't an emotional roller coaster with the relationship. I enjoyed them getting together, sticking together, and growing together, fighting all outside forces together. That's my favorite kind of couple. The biggest drawback of this book was the obscenely excessive amount of cursing. It was so ridiculous. Another thing I don't particularly care for are the character cameos from other series. In this book Shirleen and Daisy appear out of nowhere and for no particular reason. It's unnecessarily distracting in my opinion. However, I can understand it being described as Erotic by those with a more tame idea of romance, so I included it into my idea of what genres this book should be listed as. My reason for the 4.75 instead of full 5 stars; a very small amount of repetition and I felt there could have been more action and details invested into the mystery/suspense. In whole, this story was AWESOME! The main characters were full on, without a doubt, fantastic to read about. You can't help but to absolutely adore Tessa. Brock was briefly introduced to us in the 1st book in this series, 'Mystery Man'. Talk about a complex and very layered personality! And ALL MAN baby! Then there are all the supporting characters. Tessa's best friend, Brock's family and many others. They are an amazing menagerie that add depth, laughter and spice throughout the story. The whole thing flows seamlessly. A delicious read all the way through. Love it. Started reading July 4, 2017 Finished reading July 7, 2017 4 stars I have loved everything that I have read by this author. There is always something about it her books that feel like home. That being said, even though I loved the characters, I struggled with this story. I still devoured every word because you can't miss a single thing when reading one of her books, but the actual story seemed to drag on or not have a real purpose. I still don't know what happened with the dad or why that storyline was even added. Everything with Brock's ex seemed meh especially after everything in the ending, The stuff with Tess' ex, especially after how the reason this book started due to his illegal affairs, just seemed wasted. Still I liked the characters, A LOT, but I'm disappointed. Think what I like most about this book is the fact the main characters are older. A divorced past her child bearing years falling for a 45 yr old divorced cop with two boys. The making a relationship work while dealing with exes, the boys, stressful jobs.... Heck it's a love story about people you could be friends with. It makes me want to cheer for them to make it even more. There's action and suspense but what holds it all together is the fact some of it is so normal that it provides such a strong foundation for these characters and you learn to love them because of their normalcy and friends, some of whom you have around you. Admit it, you know Martha and your friend who's just like Elvira, you're secretly afraid of her sometimes. Can't wait to read the others in this series. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
