Wonderful! This book describes in detail and with pictures the definition and how to look for symmetry in your everyday life. This book is interesting and captivating to the eye, with all the colors and pictures - it helps the students who are visual learners on learning what symmetry is. This book would definitely be helpful during a mathematics symmetry lesson, or simply to review the information. ( )

This book was different that other educational books for me. It gave students a word to use to describe something. I think books like this are important because not every student is good at expressing things that they feel, think, and sometimes see. The key component to this book is the illustrations. The illustrator obviously had to use symmetrical pictures. This book would be good for younger audiences because it has simple language, is a short book, and teaches a concept that most students pick up on at this age. I think a good activity with this book would be having students find symmetrical things around the classroom. ( )

I enjoyed this book about different aspects of symmetry. I know the children would enjoy and understand the introduction of symmetry. This book has bright colorful pictures of nature and man-made objects like leaves, kites, masks, etc. In your environment, there are symmetrical objects everywhere. Symmetry is in our bed, face, clothing, letters, animals, and so much more. Symmetry is in objects you never heard of. In this book, you can learn about transformations, measuring, order, patterns, and other math concepts. I love this book because it provides so many great examples, and it has a clear message about symmetry. This story was fun to read. ( )

Very simple book, and a hands on tool to introduce this aspect of geometry. This big bright book makes understanding this concept as simple as looking and analyzing the bright colorful pictures of natural objects such as leaves and man made objects like masks, kites, and carpets. This book encourages readers to actually look around their environment to find symmetrical objects. Great book for math and an easy introduction into symmetry. I have used this book for my class as a read aloud just for fun and challenged them to find symmetrical objects. I loved her simple illustrations that were clear and perfect for the purpose of this book. I would definitely use this book for 2nd and 3rd grade. ( )

This book is a great example of an introduction to symmetry. It fits the common core math standards for fourth grade so I categorized into 3-6. I love the detail in this book about how symmetry is all around in art, nature, buildings, etc. It shows the simple and fun side of a term that children may not even realize is math. ( )
