Her father drinks alot and is very violent. Her mother is preganet with Aislinn's fifth sibling. While Aislinn should be enjoying summer with her friends, she is kept at home and having to keep watch of her younger siblings. Soon, Aislinn comes up with an idea, to write your dreams on a piece of paper and put them on you sleeves so everyone can see your dreams. Doing this, Aislinn thought, would give someone a chance to help you make your dream come true. What begins as a plea for help for her father to stop drinking, turns into a spark that has the whole community making their own dreamsleeves. Aislinn is a girl with talent, heart, and big dreams. I recommend this book for people who have dreams they want to succeed. i thought the idea of writing my dreams on a piece of paper and then putting it on my sleeves was a good idea. for anyone who wants to have a big dream, work your way up to it by doing little by little to succeed. Dreamsleeves teaches a lesson about friendship and succssession. Succeeding to your dream is an important part of life that people need to overcome. I really like Coleen Paratore's books because they are so realistic and make so much sense to our daily lives. You can read more of her books in you local library or you can visit her website or also read her books online. This selection, "Dreamsleeves" is about a young girl named Aislinn "A" O'Neill who's been dreaming practically her whole life. She dreams about her father finally losing his drinking habits, about her mother's health, and to have a normal summer just like her friends. A knows what it takes to make a dream come true, so she has a brilliant idea to wear them on her sleeve. People around her community, including her four siblings, began to notice the strange stickers on her arm and want to help her with her desperate plea throughout the chapters. A teaches us to embrace your ideas and never give up. I happen to enjoy reading this book very much. I can relate to A pretty well, except for the fact that she has four siblings. I love how she explains everything so easily. The cliffhangers at the end of each chapter made me want to never put the book down until I was finished. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
During a momentous summer, thirteen-year-old Aislinn's dreams include that her father will stop drinking and give her more freedom, that her fifth sibling will be born safely, that she will not lose her best friend or her potential boyfriend, and that she can teach members of her community both to express their dreams and to help others' dreams come true.
