Breathtakingly original. A revelation on almost every page. Exciting and engaging blend of the usual teenaged angst and everyday life with a mesmerising array of fantastic images and events from Joseph Evans' marvelously imagined and realised world. I can't wait to connect with Seckry and his friends again. READ THIS BOOK!

Update: Please note that I haven't read the Harry Potter books, so I obviously didn't (and can't) make comparisons as other readers have. (

overall a good YA book.I really enjoyed the scifi elements and the crooked corporation. The author did have fun picking out everyone's names in the book too. Some gave me a chuckle. (

I really enjoyed this book. I love that there's a mystery set up right in the first few pages.

There were several mysteries throughout the book that don't get unraveled until the very end. It's amazing to think of how many questions you can pile onto one another without being annoyed! lol

I liked the twist near the end. It was unpredictable, if a little confusing, but in a good way.

A part near the very end I found slightly predictable, but it left enough questions to want to keep reading. Though I'm not sure what it could possibly be about, I'm looking forward to the next book! (

ETA: Author posted that he didn't know he shouldn't send fans to low rated reviews. He says he sends fans to all reviews. Stated that he meant no harm. I call Shenanigans.

ETA2: In confirmation of my decision not to support this author AND my calling shenanigans on the author's "apology," one of the rabid fans from the attack I mentioned in the review has now shown up to this review. There is a person on the Amazon review (dated April 2012) in question here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R26OLCTDPLAT8X/ who seems to be quite similar to the singular attacker on this review.

Your fans are not attack dogs. You do not send them out to harass people who didn't like your book. People seriously need to grow the hell up. Oh, and that whole "I didn't know it was wrong" crap? You're how old? Actually, it doesn't even matter. If you had any common sense, you would know that what you were doing was wrong. "I didn't know" is not only a shitty excuse, it's an unbelievable one as well. You did know better, you just didn't care.
