First of all, the illustrations and graphics were really helpful to the reader. There are labeled illustrations of the twenty-one different types of owls in North America, labeled parts of the body, and other captioned graphics that demonstrate large aspects of an owl’s life. There are no photographs, but the illustrations of the owls are realistic enough for the readers to understand. The language used was academic, however it remained simple enough for the targeted grade level audience to understand. The sections of text on each page was also not very much to be intimidating to the readers. When new words were introduced, such as raptor, incubation, or nocturnal, they were clearly defined in captions or within the text. Some of those more difficult words, such as incubation, even had a pronunciation key available for readers. The overall message of this book was to inform the young public about owls and toward the end it seemed to have information on the general dangers to owls by humans. This could be to persuade readers to be aware or mindful of the troubles today. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
