Blue jays build a nest on a 3rd floor New York City balcony. The author/photographer took photos as the birds grew. While it is a nice story with photographic illustrations, the author really didn't do a lot of research or provide any science facts for young readers and listeners. This is probably best shared with preschoolers or with children who may get to watch a nest in their own yard. ( )

A nice simple book about the nature around us.11 ( )

I especially appreciated this story after recently having a Carolina wren build a nest and hatch chicks in my carport. ( )
