More cozy than romance, but with significant Romance traits (the sex scenes were more graphic than your standard cozy). I found myself skimming once in awhile, even though I liked the characters and enjoyed the writing, so I'm going to chalk that up to trying to read during the busy holiday season. I'll definitely be ordering the next book in the series to see what happens next. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

Tax cheats, beware: The Treasury Department's Criminal Investigations Division has a new special agent on its payroll. A recovering tomboy with a head for numbers, Tara's fast becoming the Annie Oakley of the IRS-kicking ass, taking social security numbers, and keeping the world safe for honest taxpayers. Or else. Tara's latest mission finds her in hot pursuit of ice-cream vendor Joseph "Joe Cool" Cullen. Along with frozen treats he's selling narcotics-and failing to report his ill-gotten gains on his tax returns. Over Tara's dead body. Then there's Michael Gryder, who appears to be operating a Ponzi scheme . . . with banker Stan Shelton . . . whose lake house is being landscaped by Brett Ellington . . . who happens to be dating Tara. If following that money trail isn't tough enough, now Tara must face a new conundrum: Should she invest her trust in Brett-or put him behind bars? New love always comes at a cost, but justice? Priceless. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |

I thought that a mystery featuring an IRS special agent -- a tax cop would be different, which is why I picked it up even though I didn't find the title terribly attractive. The problem for me is that there is too much about french manicures, and clothing, and not enough about the life of a tax cop. It's starts off well enough with the first chapter, and with catching a very angry perp and with bureaucracy struggles, but during her undercover operation with Christina Marquez, I thought it began to bog down with clothing, the guy she wants to date, and yes, manicures. Maybe the author just didn't want it to end too soon, but what should have been exciting bored me. Maybe another reader would love the focus on those things, so I suggest you reflect on what you like and decide if this is for you.
I have also read one book in her Paw Enforcement Novels, which I did like better.
