Biografía breve
Valentina Zhuravlyova was born in Baku, Azerbaijan, where she received a degree in pharmacology. She and her husband, Genrikh Saulovich Altshuller, who used the pen name Genrikh Altov, wrote many science fiction stories together, but because of anti-Semitic restrictions in Russia, the stories were published under Zhuravlyova's name. She published her first story in 1958 and eventually published four books on her own: Through Time (1960), The Man Who Created Atlantis (1963), Snow Bridge over the Abyss (1971), and Flying in the Universe (2002). Four of her stories and one story that she co-wrote with Altov are available in English translation in Ballad of the Stars (1982). Her work also has been translated into German, Croatian, Romanian, and Esperanto.
In the early 1990s, she and her husband settled in Petrozavodsk in northwestern Russia.

Zhuravlyova's three stories are far superior: she's also touting Altov's system, but her characters sound like actual human beings and she's capable of coming up with actual plots for her stories.

The collection ends with a novella credited to both authors that is much stronger than any of Altov's solo stories, but weaker than Zhuravlyova's stories.… (más)
