Personal Response:
A fantastic blend of Icelandic folklore, landscape and outright imagination. Though not a central theme to the story, Logi's friends are a diverse group. Sigga appears to be of Asian origin, whereas, her brother, Noi appears to be of Icelandic origin. He is, however, in a wheelchair.

Curricular or Programming Connections:
Excellent for discussing diversity and people with disabilities.

Personal Comments:
This is a fun glimpse into the Icelandic countryside with images of turf houses and Icelandic farm animals. It also gives recognition to the increased diversity within Iceland's traditionally very homogeneous society and portrays a very happy, non-traditional family.

Curricular or Programming Connections:
Excellent for introducing students students in preschool to early elementary school to the idea of ethnic/racial diversity, rural lifestyles, and non-traditional family structures.… (más)
