Eric Liddell not only overcame obstacles at the 1924 Olympics; he served the people of China dauntlessly in the 1930s and on into World War II, giving up any shot at an Olympic return. He died in an internment camp at the age of 43, but with more to show for his life than any gold medal could offer: lives changed for God.
