The author, a frequent contributor to public media on the subject, has good intentions in smoothing over communal divisions and praying for peace between India and Pakistan and resolution of the Kashmir imbroglio. However, his diagnosis comes out a bit superficial and hurried, and his frequent recourse to blaming the British rulers and the Anglo-American vested interests in propping up Pakistan for geo-strategic reasons, wears a bit thin after 70 years of independence. In any case the situation is now much altered after abrogation of the special status under Art. 370 etc. The last few sections are excerpts from book reviews, and may be a bit out of place as they express quite different points of view.… (más)
