" In Luther the Expositor Jaroslav Pelikan provides the reader and student with some to the tools that are needed for a proper appreciation of Luther's exegetical writings. This companion volume shows conclusively that " in his exegesis - as in his doctrine, piety, and ethic - the Reformer" was "a son of the church" and "a witness to the Word of God revealed in Jesus Christ and documented in the Sacred Scriptures."
