Walsh has never fit in. With iridescent beetle shell hair, and what might be newly sprouting horns, she’s decided to run away from the city, her loving brother, and his shrew of a wife. In order to make her escape, she needs money. The only way to get it is to sell her most treasured possession—a worn leather book once belonging to her mother. The only problem? Tieg Connolly, a dour young man on the hunt for rare and interesting tomes.

This book was such a sweet story. I could not put this book down and finished it within a couple of days. I loved the characters, the story line, and most definitely the twists and turns and shocks that came with this story. A great afternoon, happily ever after read.… (más)

I received this book as an ARC. From the description it sounded good. I am usually a cozy murder and/or paranormal mystery type of girl, so I went out on a limb with this one. Lets just say I was pleasantly surprised by this book. It very easily kept my focus and attention to the point that I never wanted to put it down. What surprised me the most was how beautifully written it was. The words just seemed to flow effortlessly. Some sentences I read over and over because of the way the words were written. They were just so touching. The story centers on the life of a young woman, the people in her life and about finding herself. This is a combination of a fantasy/romance/mystery book. The author weaves the story easily from romance and family to the mystery surrounding the young woman. This just wasn't an enjoyable book, it was fantastic. Take a leap like I did and read this book!… (más)

This was such a lovely book to read. When I finally sat down to read it, I couldn’t stop and ended up reading it in one sitting. I really enjoyed how to story progressed, it wasn’t fast pace or rushed which I really appreciated

I loved the characters. One of my biggest problems with some books is lack of communication because one character doesn’t want to say what’s bothering them or burden another, this book didn’t really have that. There were a couple start and stop moments but it wasn’t for lack of trying.… (más)

This is an ARC Review of "A Simple Tale of Ink and Bindings". Let me start off by saying, this was such a 'cozy vibe', I guess some would categorize the book as a cozy fantasy. The story was good, I loved the writing, the characters, world building. Ugh, all of it, lets get specific shall we?
I never fully understood what fellow reviewers meant when they referenced a piece as being lyrical, but this, this book had so many points where I couldnt help but read it outloud to a friend. I wish I knew which parts are for sure in the final version of the book so I could share a quote, but I read an ARC, so that cannot be done.
World building, let me start off by saying, I'm not much of a 'fey' reader, or 'fairy' reader. Although I do read fantasy alot, this sort of mythology is somewhat new to me. Even with my little experience and understanding of the mythos, I was easily able to understand how and why things were happening.
The romance, gosh, our main couple is adorable, the things the MMC says to the FMC got me kicking my feet and giggling. The words they would exchange were so honestly sweet and endearing. Although I will say the relationship is not the complete and utter main focus, which I am glad, we gets a lot of moments with them but I am glad the author has chosen to focus on the story more.
Final Thoughts, I hope this book gets the recognition it deserves because this felt like a much needed change of reading from what I have been reading lately (very heavy and somewhat sad books), this can easily be a book I come back to when I'm not feeling my best and want a positive read. I hope future readers enjoy reading as much as I did.
