Clementina, Viscountess Hawarden (1822–1865)

Clementina Maude, Viscountess Hawarden (née Fleeming), also called Lady Hawaden, was a Victorian era photographer, known mostly for portraits. In 1845, she married Cornwallis Maude, 4th Viscount Hawarden and the couple had 10 children. She was elected a member of the Photographic Society of London in 1864. Her artistic career lasted only 8 years, cut short by her untimely death at age 42 from pneumonia. Her work was largely forgotten after her death but in 1939 her granddaughter, Lady Clementina Tottenham, brought it to the attention of the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.
