This book details America's energy past, present, and future, looking at the impact of oil and the impact of declining supplies. The author looks toward the future, when we will no longer be able to support the same level of consumption that we've become used to, and suggests that we might start thinking of alternatives before it gets too late. Good review of the possibility of a peak oil crisis. Goodstein is equally concerned with climate change processes, so his outlook is broader in scope than most of those writing on this topic. ( )
