Acerca de míNew to LibraryThing, but have been spending a lot of time here. Fortunately I have an incredibly sweet and understanding wife, who while she is not an enabler for my addiction to books, does let me enjoy and accompanies me when she can. Aren't I the lucky one!?. Lifelong love of books, and even owned a little bookstore for a short time in an experiment in private enterprise. Some day, when I grow up, I may do it again, but not when I need to depend on it as a source of income, but rather as a self-sufficient and self-sustaining hobby.

Acerca de mi bibliotecaMy library is not fully input into LibraryThing yet, so the titles I have listed are not yet representative of my total collection.

It seems my wishlist is growing faster than entries for my library. Consolidating my numerous wishlists is working, I sorted by wishlist and then printed it out so I have a hardcopy of my wishlist to take with me as I make the rounds of bookstores across the country. My job has me traveling quite a bit, and everywhere I go I try to hit a used bookstore or two (or three or four) if time permits.

Phil, I've never uncovered any evidence of a novelization of "The Dead Pool." That one seems to have slipped through the cracks. I'd be very interested in seeing your bibliography of bibliomysteries. Let me know when it is available.

I notice that you actually have a copy of Maxim Komolyets' "Tanks in the Winter War." While I'm bummed that Amazon just cancelled my order for that work, it still begs the question of whether I missed anything; did I? Further, were you impressed with the production values that the publisher achieved and who would you compare them to, seeing as they have some other items that I might like to own.

Hi Phil, I got my copy of "Double Fighter Knight" from a dealer who was also selling a copy of Porvali's "Ace Eagle: Hasse Wind" (on another top Finnish ace) at the same time. Two seperate auctions, but both fairly good deals. My interests tend to the obscure aspects of the Russian Front (especially the German allies - Italy, Finland, and the Osttruppen), aviation (from pioneers to around 1950), and Napoleonic. Too many interests and not enough money ;-) . Thank you for your comments on my library!! I'll let you know if I see another copy of "Double Fighter Knight" at a good price. Steve

Hi, I found my copy of Double Fighter Knight on E-Bay a couple of weeks ago. There's not many copies of the book online (abebooks.com, bookfinder.com, vialibri.net, etc) and they're all expensive ($200+). Depending on the book and the auction, you can often get books on E-Bay for under half of what they normally sell for online. Of course, if you don't do your research online first, you can also spend twice as much on an E-Bay auction than you would online. With E-Bay, ABEBOOKS, and ALIBRIS, you can keep a want list and they will e-mail you when a book gets listed. It works great!

Hi, I just wanted to say that you have a great selection of books on Finland in WW2 and the Soviet-Finnish War! I noticed your library when I added the book "Double Fighter Knight" by Juutilainen and was surprised that someone else had a copy as it is uncommon. Just to let you know, there is a new set of books on Finnish Aviation in the process of being published. It's entitled Suomen Ilmavoimat by Keskinen and Stenman with three volumes published so far - 1918-1928, 1928-1940, and 1941. It's an excellent photo-history and does have both English and Finnish text for the Finnish impaired like myself. You've got a great library and it's nice in its diversity!

Just to add to what bookstopshere said, the ERB Libary of Illustration is absolutely wonderful stuff. I don't have any copies, but a good friend of mine does, and they're well worth the pretty penny you'll have to shell out for them. Most people tend towards Vol II due to the Frazetta material, but they are all worth looking at.

Yup, the ERB Library of Illustration is every bit as great as it sounds. Russ Cochran did a super job putting these together. Long ago (pre-publication) when I subscribed, I think these were 300.00. It took a few years for Russ to finish to project - and the 3rd volume is a bit weaker than the other 2 - but terrific stuff. They seem to appear regularly, tho seldom at bargain prices. The nice folks on ABE have a set for 500.00 now and I'd say that's a good value (they usually go 700 - 800.) Hope you're able to pick up a set - let me know what you think!
