For four years, play-by-the-rules bank teller Turner Hastings has brooded over her uncle's wrongful imprisonment. But when two bumbling crooks stumble into her branch (barely disguised in Yoda and Sponge Bob masks) and hold up the place, she sees a chance to do something she's never thought possible: get revenge. She takes advantage of the melee to pull a heist of her own, seizing info from a security box that will exonerate her uncle. Sent to investigate a bank robbery in small town Wisconsin, Special Agent John MacKinnon discovers the robbers were two not-quite-so-bright thugs and one woman. Now, Turner is on the run. With SA MacKinnon on her trail, she's breaking into the bank president Calvin's house, kidnapping his Great Dane, and for the first time in her life, setting out to break a few rules. But when Calvin hires a hit-man, MacKinnon will have to decide between his career--and saving Turner.… (más)

This was a fun read. A bonus was that the main characters were mature adults. The Wisconsin setting made a change of pace from books set in California, Texas or a coastal region. The only fault I found in her descriptions of Wisconsin is that the author said the capitol building was square with a dome. It's not square, it is in the shape of a cross, having four wings. It is a replica of the US Capitol building in Washington, DC.

I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway. ( )

I was really into this book for about 4 hours and then... More and more sexual graphic talk that I just was embarrassed reading this book. The plot was interesting and the motivation behind Turner's theft was noble. I thought I liked Turner but then she would talk to John and John was so stupid. He liked her sexually right away and talked to her that way on the phone everyday. It was ridiculous! What kind of FBI agent are you! I've read sex scenes before so the ones in here shouldn't surprise me so much but to me they just were too much especially listening to it. I didn't expect this book to have this so that was my bad... ( )

Fast read, bank robbers, thieving librarian, heartthrob FBI man, and hit 'em hard comic relief add up to a fantastic, entertaining evening. My thanks to the author and Goodreads for a complimentary copy. ( )

Exciting action packed story with humorous antics of Yoda and Sponge Bob. Very enjoyable until a pivotal hotel scene so unrealistic that it ruined the momentum making my rating is 3.5* FBI Agent John watches librarian Turner steal contents of safety deposit box during robbery surveillance tape and the chase is on.

Wonderful. Julia Harper also writes historical romance under the pseudonym Elizabeth Hoyt. Hot is her first foray into contemporary romance, and it's hugely successful. Her hero and heroine are skillfully developed and engaging characters with great chemistry and sparkling dialogue. The plot is well-paced and engrossing. The cartoonish villains are the only weak aspect of the novel (I found myself skipping chapters focused exclusively on them). ( )
