People in their life right now can be very anxious. We have so much going on all the time and then throw in pandemics, climate change, the economy etc and things get rough. If you're a Christian, you know that even when you're down, you can be lifted up. Reading a bit of Scripture and then ruminating on it and praying for guidance is something we should do every day. This book puts all of that into a daily format targeted specifically at combatting harsh emotions. A bit of Scripture, some fellowship discussion, and a prayer for guidance make it easy to get your "dailies" in! :-P Overall, quite enjoyable and well written. Esta reseña ha sido escrita para Sorteo de miembros LibraryThing. The author does a good job of communicating hope from the Gospel in times of anxiety. The book could have been improved by an editor; some of the fonts are a bit difficult to read, and the punctuation and grammar are inconsistent (and grammatically incorrect at some points).I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

As usual, those of us who are believers in the Lord have, and knowing He's also called the Great Physician, His answer to any situation we might have His book close at hand, in the Bible. In perusing it, we find the most significant information regarding worrying about our lives as Christians in MATTHEW 6:25-34 [NKJV]:
[25] Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? [26] Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?
[27] Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? [28] "So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; [29] and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. [30] Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? [31] Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' [32] For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. [33] But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. [34] Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
I've found this devotional book somewhat of a God-sent for anyone suffering from anxiety to begin a Scriptual directed journey to find the relief that they're desperately searching for. The book accomplishes this through the various Scripture offered each day, along with a running commentary. Each day culminates with a specifically written supplication to the Lord for that day's devotion.
Being the rather voracious reviewer of non-fiction Christian books that I am, I'm glad to be giving this book's publisher 5 STARS for their endeavor here. ( )
