Very good, complex work in this one. I would have liked to have seen a few more non-American voices included (the essays have to be published in North America in English, but that shouldn't exclude foreign-born folks), but on the other hand I was glad to see good Indigenous representation. And, of course—Rebecca Solnit is the guest editor—an abundance of women's voices. At least two of the essays, by J. Drew Lanham and Terese Marie Mailhot, impressed me enough that now I want to read their books (The Home Place: Memoirs of a Colored Man's Love Affair with Nature and Heart Berries: A Memoir, respectively. A good collection, worth reading. Working on a review of this for LJ now. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
