Colin is really looking forward to spending Christmas with his family, and he's not going to let the blizzard that cancelled his flight stand in his way. He sets out in his car, driving carefully, but that doesn't work out for him, either. He finds himself in a ditch, freezing, with nowhere to go. Knowing he can't stay in his car, he gathers his luggage and treks to the nearest house he can find. And he's surprised to find Logan, an attractive fitness instructor, at the door. Logan invites Colin in and helps him warm up, willingly allowing him to stay until the blizzard passes. Although they start the weekend as strangers, spending time in close quarters helps them learn more about each other and become fast friends. And while it's still cold outside, it doesn't take long for things to heat up inside the house.

This is a fun and sweet story that really shines. It's not long, but the author does a great job of using every word and every page with purpose. And even though we only see Colin and Logan for a short time from beginning to end, things never feel rushed or overly constructed in their interactions. I definitely found myself wanting more from these characters. What happens next? ( )

Travelling in winter can be risky, what with all the snow and ice in certain areas, but for those who want to be with family for Christmas, it often feels as though there is no choice. They HAVE to make whatever trip they have planned, even when there is a blizzard. Of course this "rule" is more in some people's heads than real, but Colin, the narrator of this Christmas adventure certainly thinks he has no choice. So when all flights fro Toronto are cancelled due to a blizzard, he takes the car. And when he crashes the car in the middle of nowhere, he walks. I was shaking my head fearing this would not end well all the way.

But Colin is lucky and finds a house before he succumbs to hypothermia, and even luckier that the man who lives there is at home and takes him in. What follows is a whirlwind romance as Colin gets to know Logan in he confines of an extremely well-appointed house while the blizzard continues to rage outside. Even though Colin doesn't like Christmas and his family has no Christmas traditions, Logan loves the holiday enough for two people and introduces Colin to each one of them with great glee. Of course they create a few new ones of their own when it becomes obvious their attraction is mutual...

If you like the idea of two strangers being snowed in with n choice but to entertain each other, if stories about the way other people celebrate Christmas interest you, and if you're looking for a highly entertaining and funny read that is s sweet as it is hot, then you will probably like this novella.
