I really enjoyed reading this short picture book and the meaning that it conveyed. The story is about a young princess that gets made fun of by a couple of her friends; they tell her that her ears and nose are too big. This leads the princess to believe that she is ugly and nobody will like her. Because she now thinks she is ugly, she lets it stop him from doing fun things and spending time with friends/making new friends. She lets someone's mean words change the way she sees herself, and that ruins her life for quite some time. However, her parents tell her that real beauty is from within and she must be happy. Her parents tell her to study how other people fine their happiness. The princess talks to a woman with an even bigger nose and ears than her own, and this woman makes her realize that what matters is being happy and kind to others. The princess changes her attitude, finds self confidence, and goes on to spend her time make other people happy. She looks for a husband that is kind and wise, not just one that has good looks. I love the message that this conveys to young readers. I think this is a great read from young kids, especially young girls, that may struggle with self confidence. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

This lovely tale tells the story of Princess Isabella, who is greatly loved by her parents--happy and carefree until she overhears girls making fun of her large nose and ears. Miserable and ashamed, she quits playing and hides in the palace. Nothing can sway Isabella's feelings of ugliness and sadness until an old woman reminds her that giving love to others brings deep happiness. Isabella listens and helps unfortunate people in the kingdom. Through her unselfish actions, she gains self-esteem and grows into a happy compassionate adult. When it comes time to choose someone to marry, she looks for a wise and kind husband, rather than focusing on appearance. Readers of this illuminating story learn how Isabella by loving others gains self-esteem, and how she finds the ideal suitor No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
