NYRB Classics in public libraries

A few months ago I made a NYRB book display at the library where I work and was shocked at how few titles we had. I have no power over what books get ordered (though I make lots of suggestions!), so unfortunately I can't just wave my hand and make it change.

One of the best ways to get NYRB books into libraries is patrons requesting them, particularly the new ones. Some smaller publishers, like Dalkey Archive Press, offer special prices to libraries. Has NYRB ever thought of doing this? Is the library where I work alone in its lack of titles?

This is so good to know. Can I repost your message on the NYRB blog? Or would you be interested in reworking it or writing something longer along these lines? Especially as it applies not only to us, but to many small presses. And it's still library month, right?

I imagine it would be pretty easy for other presses to do this with each new set of books they publish.
