I am still reading The Monsters of Templeton by Lauren Groff and it is good so far. I started and finished The Midlife Bible: A Woman's Survival Guide by Michael P. Goodman which was pretty good and informative book. Also, started to read Melinda and the Wild West: A Family Saga in Bear Lake, Idaho by Linda Weaver Clarke.

I really enjoyed my LibraryThing early review book Weaving a Way Home: A Personal Journey Exploring Place and Story by Leslie Van Gelder. I'll have a review up later tonight.

I'm starting the early review book Franklin and Lucy: President Roosevelt, Mrs. Rutherfurd, and the Other Remarkable Women in His Life by Joseph E. Persico. It's really interesting so far.

Awesome book review of Van Gelder, eduscapes!!!
Authentic experiences, stories, wilderness....

Favorite quote:
"Whatever landscape a child is exposed to early on, that will be the sort of gauze through which he or she will see all the world afterward." - Wallace Stegner

I thought you'd enjoy that Wallace Stegner quote. It reminded me that I spent my preschool years in Arizona and Utah... interesting. :-)

I finished both The Monsters of Templeton and Melinda and the Wild West: A Family Saga in Bear Lake, Idaho and should have reviews up soon. I enjoyed them both, each totally different from the other. I read the Melinda one because I got an advanced reader copy of the 2nd book Edith and the Mysterious Stranger: A Family Saga in Bear Lake, idaho by Linda Weaver Clarke. I can not read a book out of sequence!! So, I am reading it now.

Regarding Message 6, yes, I think just the fact that we moved a lot and traveled a lot, in your early years.. as we have discussed, is represented in that quote. Neat! ;-)

I am reading The Thirteen American Arguments by Howard Fineman.

He says these thirteen "discussion topics" have been ongoing throughout our history and actually define who we are as Americans. I enjoy his Newsweek writing and his commentary on MSNBC - impartial, actually - so figured I should read his book.

I got the reviews up for the monsters and melinda books! I finished Edith and the Mysterious Stranger: A Family Saga in Bear Lake, Idaho by Linda Weaver Clarke and will have a review up soon. I started and finished Life Among the Dead by Lisa Williams, which I loved (review up soon)!! Now I am starting on Admit One: A Journey into Film by Emmett James.
I loved the Idaho books..1890s-early 1900s, the west..all the things I love to read...the 3rd book in the 5 books series comes out this summer!
You know me..I love paranormal, psychic, medium sort of things..so I really liked Lisa Williams book about her early years and how she got where she is now!

I just got done reading the LibraryThing Early Review copy of I Love Dirt by Jennifer Ward. Unfortunately the advanced copy was an abridged version which was very disappointing. I did enjoy the book and I've posted by review.

I finished Admit One, which was ok..not really about film too much..at least to me!! Now I am starting on one that I've been wanting to read, Obedience by Will Lavender. Mystery/Thriller type book!

Annette, i just read your review for I Love Dirt. It's interesting to read the other couple reviews, because everyone read it a bit differently! It is too bad that you didn't get the whole book, even if it was not all edited. At least then, you would have had the whole book to consider for reviewing!

The publisher sent me the final version of I Love Dirt, so I'll update the review soon.
