Catalog/Your Books update

This morning we rolled out a small update to Your Books. The update should be almost imperceptible for most people but it's a large change on the technology side of things. The page is being built in a completely different way and is now a full LT2 page.

With that comes a few things:
1. It now respects your global font choice for LibraryThing (selectable via the "Change Style" option at the bottom of most pages, though not in your catalog ironically).
2. It now uses the standard LT2 top bar, which means that it displays better on mobile devices. It's no longer the size that a School For Ants might use.
3. It allows us to move faster with future changes to that page.

Eventually we will do a FULL makeover of Your Books and make it even better. That may be in the coming months.

Well the only way I can read anything in Your Books is to increase the font size (via the three little dots at the top of the tool bar) which darkens the text as the font size increases. The downside is that every page I go to is then increased as well and I have to go up and put it back to 100%, then the next time I want Your Books, I do it all over again.

This is a bit crazy, in my opinion. The catalog aspect is why I came to LT in the first place, not all the 'extras'. But now the extras are getting all the updates and attention and Your Books gets worse and worse.

Could you please remember you have members who work on a pc, not their phone, and want very basic things when you are busy making things 'cooler'.

I've always loved LT but it's getting more and more frustrating.

The size of the fonts on your catalog page were not changed. In fact, it's the single page on LT that kept the font size changes from the original, nearly 20 year-old style.
And if you want that page (and most others) to look EXACTLY like it did before this most recent change just select the font style "Lorax."

And not to be pedantic, but the LT2 changes have been to make the font sizes LARGER, not smaller (except on the catalog page where we didn't change it at all). But you still have some control over that with the font selector.

FWIW, I find the current version of Your Books fine on a pc, but hopeless on the phone. The old version was more mobile-friendly.

>4 AndreasJ: You can select "Desktop View" from the bottom bar on any page before you go to Your Books (it doesn't have the bottom bar, to save space for the data table).
That will give you the full-desktop view on your phone, like it was before...though zooming isn't enabled then (but I'm looking into that).

I can't really tell whether anything has changed on the Your Books page, so I'll count that as a job well done!

The Your Books page looks much better to me, on a phone, although atm I can't remember what bugged me about the old page. I do like that you can move the top bar independently of the rest of the page
