Interesting that the FS includes the book in both the Fiction and Non Fiction categories on the website. Who makes these decisions?

A work of fiction masquerading as a work of fact. Historical fiction?

Defoe was a reporter who claimed it was true journalism--he later admitted it wasn't.

That last sentence is anachronistic as Defoe was writing in the 17th century, but that's the gist of it.

I would argue this work in particular straddles both fiction and non-fiction in a way that makes it harder to categorize. I think it's entirely appropriate for it to sit in both categories.
