Did you think Vera should, or would, help John Brace with his parole?

I don't think she should help John Brace because they had to make too many visits in order to get the whole story from him. If he was more up front in the beginning then I would say Vera should help him.

I don't think he was all that cooperative since he kept a lot of information back. He did provide information that led to discovering the bodies even though they would have been found eventually. I feel like Vera would help him at his parole hearing for sentimental reasons. He was a friend of Hector's, she liked Patty, he's not got much longer to live, etc

He wasn't really helping anyone but himself. She should keep her word and testify that he gave information in the investigation but not go out of her way to add any glowing details.

I hi k you’ve summed things up very nicely Carol. Put accurate information in but not go out of her way. As has been said he was playing Vera and only allowing things to dribble out. He should have been more up front.

Brace has sat on this knowledge for 20 years, only choosing to bring it to light when it suited his own ends. I don't think he deserves a favourable testimony from Vera, and I don't think she's soft enough to provide him with one, for this very reason.
