Did you think Patty’s mother was still alive? Why?

At first I was hoping that she was still alive until they found the two bodies then I knew one of them must be Patty's mother.

I thought she was probably dead given her lifestyle.

Like >2 EadieB: I thought there was a chance that she was still alive but as the section went on I thought she was probably the second body.

I hoped she was alive, but something told me she was most probably dead, even before the second body was found.

I thought it more likely that Mary-Frances was dead; her disappearance seemed very complete. Though it was possible she'd simply changed her identity. Either way, she fell off the radar.
