I spent too much money last month, even if I only bought 3 books. It's the second day of April and I've already bought a book this month.

My copy of Techniques of the Selling Writer by Dwight Swain got destroyed last August when I was stuck outside (broken car door lock) in a rainstorm. Today I replaced it.

I found Nicole Routhier's Fruit Cookbook in an antique mall yesterday for $3.

Picked up another ARC at work today: Paper: Paging Through History by Mark Kurlansky. Comes out in May.

Made the mistake of looking at a table of new paperbacks. Saw and quickly bought Robert Goddard's Sea Change. It seems to be straight historical fiction a la David Liss.

All his books I've seen until now have been contemporary stories with a mystery tied to the historical past. The only one I've read so far is In Pale Battalions, but I enjoyed it enough that it was my staff rec a few years back.

And one more ARC, being published in June: Barkskins by Annie Proulx (without the E.), which covers 300 years of deforestation.

Made the mistake of looking up Susanna Kearsley and D. E. Stevenson and discovered I'd missed picking up one by the former and at least 3 by the latter.

Today I bought Named of the Dragon and ordered The Baker's Daughter and Celia's House.

Must. Stop. Now.

I'm reading teen titles for a future bookstore event, so brought home another ARC that I probably wouldn't have picked up, otherwise: The Crown's Game by Evelyn Skye. Historical fantasy set in 19th century Russia.

Hit the friends of the library sale and came away with 22 books for $28.
