I am searching for a fiction book I read quite a few years ago from the library. It was about an overweight woman who decides to change her life by spending her whole day just walking around the city to lose weight. Once all of the weight is gone she has tons of surgery to remove the extra skin and become beautiful. Then the rest of the book is about how her life is different. Any help?

The weight loss and surgery sounds similar to Switcheroo (1998), but I don't remember any city walking element in that.

Thanks. Switcheroo isn't it, but the author looked so familiar that I went through her other books and I think it's another one of her books called "Flavor of the Month" I'm going to to try and find it and it see for sure, but looks super promising!

Oh, excellent! Hope it's the one.

Touchstone add: flavor of the month

Flavour of the Month does indeed have the protagonist, an actor, losing weight by walking in NYC 8 hours each day. (She goes on to have a massive amount of cosmetic surgery after finding a large sum of money in an inherited house & goes to Hollywood, if that rings a bell.) Interesting that Goldsmith wrote 2 books in which cosmetic surgery plays a part--pretty much a cautionary one in F of the M--and died as a result of having it done herself.
