Sorry for the very late response but I just discovered this group.
Babyji by Abha Dawesar won the Lambda Literary Award last year and fits your description. I was underwhelmed -- I didn't dislike it, but I had high expectations (lesbians, quantum physics, and Indian food, what's not to love?) that it didn't quite live up to. I'd still recommend it, but reservedly so.

Not really from India, but The World Unseen by Shamim Sarif is about Indians in South Africa (during apartheid). I loved it :-)
