I recently obtained a copy of A History of the Mediterranean Air War by Christopher Shores.
This book is an almost day-by-day history of air operations in the Mediterranean theatre from June 1940- January 1942. A second volume is planned for the remainder of 1942 and 1943.
The level of research and scholarship for this book is impressive, but its presentation of the air operations on a chronological basis makes for a fragmentary and not very compelling reading experience.

I would disagree. Granted, it takes some time to go through, but the overall summaries and the level of research makes this a "must buy" for anyone interested in the arir war over the Mediterranean.
Some of the photos are taken from the earlier volumes and there are some new one added. Not only that , but the captons for the photos have been revised to incorporate new material.
I would agree that the earlier volumes flowed better but there was some flawed information in the earlier books that is now being rectified
